A German witch doctor fed a blind man gherkins laced with LSD and charged him $30,000.

Jobless Patrick Baecker posed as a mystic healer and took the large sum of money from blind Axel Pfeffer claiming he could give him back his sight, but was really feeding him gherkins laced with LSD, the powerful mind-bending hallucinogenic drug which induces visions.

Baecker was jailed for eight months by a court in Fehmarn, Germany after it was found he'd stolen money from the former motorcyclist who had tried everything to restore his sight after losing it in a crash years before.

Judge Markus Faerber said: "You are a hairdresser, not a shaman."
