Russia today insisted that it will not cave in to pressure after the United States, the European Union and Canada imposed fresh sanctions over the conflict in Ukraine.
And a spokesman for the Vladimir Putin administration has warned that Russia is crafting retaliatory measures.
Earlier this week US President Barack Obama signed an executive order banning the export of goods, technology and services to Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in March.
The order also imposes new sanctions on Russian and Ukrainian individuals and companies.
In a statement, Moscow said it regretted that the West is again displaying what it describes as a lack of interest in resolving the crisis in Ukraine.
