Police personnel attached to the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay were busy up to 3 o'clock this morning processing a crime scene in Paradise, Norwood where a man had been murdered hours earlier.
Investigators identified the murder victim as 33-year-old Damian 'Mark' Elliott of Paradise, Norwood.
According to the police preliminary investigations revealed that Elliott was inside his house at around 11:30 p.m., when he was visited by two friends who called him outside.
The police say Elliott and the men were standing in his yard talking, when a barrage of gunshots were heard.
Family members and neighbours went to investigate and found Elliott lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.
The men reportedly fled the scene.
The police say they are unable to say whether Elliott was shot by his friends, or if someone else had committed the act.
Up to news time, no motive had been determined for Elliott's killing.
