KINGSTON, Jamaica:
Outstanding forensic reports have further stalled the case of the two inmates charged in connection with the death of 31-year-old construction worker Mario Deane.

The case against Marvin Orr and Adrian Morgan was again called up in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court today.

In addition to the absence of the reports, the court was also informed that additional documents such as a duty roster and medical history have not been served on the defence.

Clerk of the Court Natalie Malcolm informed that she could not photocopy the documents because they were too large, but said that extracts are available for viewing.

The court was also informed that the post-mortem report has now been added to the case file.

Orr and Morgan were further remanded.

They are to return to court on January 16, 2015.

Meanwhile, the three cops, who are facing multiple charges in Mario Deane's beating death, had their bails extended to January 16, 2015.

They appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court today and the court was informed that further disclosures are to be made to the defence.

It is alleged that the three cops were on duty at the Barnett Street Police Station, at the time when Mario Deane was in police custody.

The officers reportedly did not complete Deane's bail process due to his lack of cooperation, and placed him in the cell where he was subsequently beaten.

It is further alleged that a Woman Corporal gave instructions for the cell where Deane was beaten to be cleaned, before the arrival of investigators from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) at the site.
