KINGSTON, Jamaica:
Police corporal Kevin Marsh has been freed of charges of buggery and illegal possession of firearm.

Marsh was accused of sexually molesting a cadet at his home in October 2010.

It was alleged that he was the head of a cadet organisation called National Inter-school Brigade.

Reports were that the policeman allegedly took the complaint to his home to iron some cadet clothes.

It was further alleged that while carrying out the task the cop pulled a gun on the complainant and sexually molested him.

The offence was allegedly committed in 2010 but a report was not made until 2012
Marsh was arrested while attempting to leave the island to attend a cadet function in Canada.

During cross examination attorney at law Oswest Senior Smith, who represented March, produced voice recordings in which the complainant was asked by the police investigators to question the accused man.

The recording disclosed that the investigators did not want to arrest Marsh but wanted to get him out of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

At the end of the crown’s case, Senior Smith made a no case submission arguing that there were too many discrepancies in the prosecution’s case.

The prosecution conceded and Justice Bertram Morrison then freed the policeman.

Marsh was also represented by attorneys-at-law Denieve Barnett, Raoul Lindo and Leroy Equiano.
