The Government has announced a three-month amnesty for electricians who have been delinquent since 1999, to renew their licences without facing a penalty.
The Board of Examiners, which licenses electricians, says the amnesty will run from May 1 to July 31.

The Gleaner said all fees must be paid at the Collector of Taxes Office or at the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining.
All delinquent electricians will have to pay a standard fee of $1,500 to renew their licences plus an additional $500 for each year they have been delinquent.
The fees must be paid no later than July 31.
Normally, licences are renewed every three years at a cost of $1,500 dollars.
The advertisement says electricians who have been delinquent before 1999 will have to be interviewed by the board of examiners before being reinstated.
